[Company Legal Name] ("Relay", "we", "us") built Relay to be private by design. This policy explains the limited information we handle when you use Relay and the website at relayos.store.

1. Our approach: local-first

Relay runs on your Mac. Your conversations, notes, files, connected-app data, and credentials are stored in a database on your own device. There is no Relay cloud that your content is uploaded to. The only content that leaves your device is the text you choose to send to an AI model, which goes to your AI provider (Anthropic) under their terms.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information — the email address (and, if you use one, sign-in identifier) you use to create your Relay account, so we can authenticate you and manage your licence.
  • Billing information — handled by our payment provider, Paddle. Paddle processes your payment and is the merchant of record; we do not receive or store your full card details. We receive limited transaction and subscription-status information to service your account.
  • Limited product analytics — a small, pre-defined set of events (for example, that the app was opened or a subscription started) to keep the Service working and secure. These events do not include the content of your notes, conversations, or files.
  • Support communications — if you contact us, the information you provide.

3. What stays on your device

Your vault, notes, messages, connected-app data, and stored credentials remain on your Mac. We do not collect, upload, or have access to them.

4. How we use information

To provide, secure, and improve the Service; to authenticate you and manage your subscription and licence; to provide support; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf: Paddle (payments and merchant of record) and Supabase (authentication and licence storage). We may disclose information if required by law. We never sell your data.

6. Your use of AI models

When you send text to an AI model through Relay, that text is transmitted to your AI provider (Anthropic) and handled under Anthropic's own terms and privacy policy. Relay is independent of and not affiliated with Anthropic.

7. Data retention

We keep account and subscription information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your account information at any time.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@relayos.store.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect the limited information we hold, including encryption in transit and at rest, and we minimise the data we collect. On-device data is protected by your Mac's own security, including the system keychain for credentials.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Children

Relay is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under the age required to consent to online services in their country.

12. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time and will post the new "last updated" date here; material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
